Self-Host Wynter

Create your own self-hosted version of Wynter! This guide assumes you have NodeJS installed on your machine.
  1. Firstly, clone the latest version of Wynter from https://github.com/wynterfurrybot/wynter‚Äč

  2. Once you have cloned Wynter, you will want to install his dependancies. You can do this by opening a terminal / console window and typing npm i which will install everything needed to run Wynter.

  3. Next, you will want to create a config.json file with the following info:

{
"token": "",
"db": {
"username": "",
"password": "",
"host": "",
"port": 1234
}
}

In the token section, you put your bot token, and in the db section you put in your database details. We personally use PostgreSQL for Wynter.

The code will automatically create the database tables on launch, so you do not have to manually do this.

4. Now you will have to create a "build" of Wynter. AKA, a distribution. To do this, type npx tsc into a terminal / console window. This will create a new folder named "dist"

5. Finally, to run the bot, you type node dist/src/index.js

Enjoy using Wynter!
